Tell us a bit about your business: What does your business offer, and how long have you been around?
We help Professionals Convey Confidence and Expertise Through Premier Headshots! We (Dan and Deb) started D2 Photography in 2019 in Salem, Oregon. We specialize in professional headshot and branding photography. We want to transform your current image from unassured to confident, inaccessible to approachable and amateur to professional! In addition to headshots, we love spending time creating awesome images with high school and college seniors, landscape photography and product photography.
Tell us a couple things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for? What separates you from others?
I think the biggest thing that separates us from some of the other amazing photographers in our local area is that we are laser focused on headshot and branding/portrait style of photography! As members of various headshot communities, we stay up to date on the latest trends and styles and we are constantly refining our style to provide clients with a great image. We make an experience out of your photoshoot. We have your favorite music playing when you arrive, the fridge is stocked with your favorite beverage, and we throw away time limits. Need a quick 15-minute shoot, we got you covered. Want to take a bit longer, change some outfits, switch out the backgrounds, we’ve got that covered too!
Also, we love meeting and collaborating with local photographers! I'd rather send you to an excellent newborn photographer and have you leave happy than have you leave with images you're not happy with because we were too concerned with "competition" to refer you!
What is your favorite part of running this business?
The best part of doing our shoots is meeting our clients. It’s awesome to meet someone in person for the first time after a phone call or Zoom meeting and by the end of the session, having them leave feeling like we’re friends.
Who is your ideal customer/client? Who do you serve best?
Our ideal client is one who values their professional image. Someone who understands the importance of headshots and are all in on collaboratively making the perfect image to represent their brand. We cater to corporate professionals, realtors, attorneys, and small business owners. If you’re okay with a headshot image taken with your cell phone and any kind of light, we probably aren’t your cup of tea. However, if you want to stand out and show others your expertise and professionalism, it’s time to call us!
Are there any special promotions, annual sales, or special events that you'd like to mention?
We currently partner with Portraits for Patriots a non-profit based in Colorado and partnering with photographers throughout the United States. Through this great organization we provide one free headshot session and image to military personnel transitioning from active duty to civilian life.
We also offer free high school senior sessions for kids in foster care and free images for families adopting children from the foster care system.
In addition to this, we love engaging with the community! You can catch us at Heppner's upcoming Annual Wee Bit O'Ireland Celebration March 17th-18th! We’ll be set-up at 127 Main St. offering fun (and free!) St. Patrick’s Day photobooth style images!
Is there any other information you'd like your potential customers/clients to know about your business?
I think the important thing for potential clients to know is that we exist to serve you. Without our clients, there is no D2 Photography. We strive to give you a great experience, create great images and have you leave happy with your final product.
How do you see your business growing and improving over the next few years?
Our goal is to be known as the area’s premier headshot photographers. It takes time to get name recognition, but we want to be the photographers people think of when they need a professional headshot or branding session for their business. We’re members of our local Chamber of Commerce and are intentional about being engaged and connected with our community.
